In addition, poets from the Boston College community will have opportunities to read their poems in front of an audience.
Mazur, author of several books of poetry, including The Common and The Pose of Happiness , will begin the series on Tuesday, March 19, at 4:30 p.m. in Hovey House Library.
On Thursday, March 21, English faculty members Assoc. Prof. Suzanne Matson, Assoc. Prof. Andrew Von Hendy and part-time faculty member Elizabeth Kirschner will read from their poems at 4:30 p.m. at Hovey House Library.
A poetry roundtable will take place on Tuesday, March 26 at 7 p.m. at Hovey House Library. All poets from the University community - including students, faculty and staff - are invited to read two or three of their poems in a casual atmosphere.
Pinsky, author of The Figured Wheel: New and Collected Poems 1965-1995 and An Explanation of America , will visit the campus on Wednesday, March 27. He will speak at a 4 p.m. colloquium at Hovey House titled "Reading Like a Writer," and present a reading of his works at 8 p.m. in Gasson 100, an event co-sponsored by the English Department and the Boston College Humanities Series.
