The Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra and Academy Award-winning conductor Marvin Hamlisch will take the stage in Conte Forum on Friday, Sept. 15 for the third annual Pops on the Heights concert to benefit the University's scholarship fund.
This year's theme is "Celebrating the Student: To Learn, To Grow, To Become" and a number of students are involved in all aspects of the event, from set design to marketing.
The event, now part of the annual Homecoming tradition, will begin at 6 p.m. with a pep rally in advance of the following day's football game. BC bOp! will take the stage at 7 p.m. and the Pops performance will begin at 8 p.m.
Tickets are $15 for students and $30 for faculty and staff. Other tickets, which include a donation to the University's scholarship fund, are available for $50, $75 and $100. There is also a special $6,000 package that includes tickets for 12 people. A gourmet picnic dinner and beverage are included in the price of each ticket.
In its first two years, Pops on the Heights has raised approximately $2 million dollars for Boston College's scholarship endowment.
