'Marine One' Pilot, ROTC Grads to Participate in Veteran's Day Event

Marine Corps Major Kevin Duffy '95, a pilot who flies "Marine One", the helicopter for the President of the United States, will be the guest speaker at the fifth annual Veteran's Day Remembrance Mass and Ceremony to be held Friday, Nov. 11, starting at 10 a.m. in the Heights Room of Corcoran Commons.

Major Duffy, who has served recent tours in Iraq and Sri Lanka, is a member of Marine Helicopter Squadron One, the Quantico, Va.-based unit that provides helicopter transportation for the president, vice president, members of the president's cabinet and visiting foreign dignitaries.

A father and son who are both graduates of the Boston College Army ROTC program will assist in the celebration of the Veteran's Day Mass. John St. George '67 will serve as a Deacon at the Mass. Offertory gifts will be brought to the altar by his son, 1LT Thomas St. George '03, an Army officer who was wounded in a helicopter crash in Afghanistan earlier this year.

An alumni veterans' remembrance ceremony and reception will follow the Mass in the Heights Room.
