Mary Robinson Lecture 4:30 Today in Robsham

Mary Robinson, former United Nations high commissioner for human rights and former president of Ireland, will present a talk today in Robsham Theater from 4:30-6:30 p.m. to mark the establishment of the Boston College Center for Human Rights and International Justice.

Robinson is executive director and chair of the Ethical Globalization Initiative, an organization she founded to foster more equitable international trade and development; strengthen responses to HIV/AIDS in Africa; and shape more humane migration policies.

The Center for Human Rights and International Justice, directed by Flatley Professor of Catholic Theology David Hollenbach, SJ, seeks a more comprehensive approach to human rights issues that traditionally have been viewed through the prism of law. The event is free and open to the public. Reserved tickets will be be available for pick-up beginning at 3 p.m. Unclaimed tickets will be released 15 minutes before the lecture begins.
