Survey: BC a Parent's Dream

Boston College is one of the top 10 "dream colleges" in the United States, according to a Princeton Review survey of parents whose children are preparing for higher education.

BC ranked seventh on the list, which was based on responses from 1,012 parents of college applicants surveyed between last August and February of this year. In addition to general questions about the college search and application process, parents were asked: "What 'dream college' would you most like to see your child attend were prospects of acceptance or cost not issues?"

The top six colleges in the survey were Princeton, Stanford, Harvard, Notre Dame, Duke and Yale. Following BC on the list were Brown, Cornell and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

In the student survey, based on 3,890 responses, the top five "dream colleges" for applicants were New York University, Harvard, Princeton, Stanford and Yale.
