The Chocolate Bar, which debuted last year in McElroy Commons, has won a "Best Concept" award for Boston College Dining Services, Food Management magazine announced recently.

BCDS and The Chocolate Bar earned the honor in the "Best Service Station/Outlet" category. In their description of winning entries, Food Management wrote: "The Chocolate Bar takes a simple but highly desirable ingredient (chocolate) not traditionally viewed as supporting an entire onsite station concept...and proceeds to do so! Replacing an underperforming coffee shop, it sells specialty coffee drinks as well as a selection of chocolate-based sweets, ice creams, sundaes, candies and a signature chocolate fondue."

The Best Concept Awards will be presented at the magazine's annual FM Ideas Conference in Chicago May 17-19.
