Arlene Fleming, 53, Dies; Was Secretary in Advancement Office

A funeral Mass for Arlene M. Fleming, administrative secretary in the University Advancement Office for the past 25 years, was held on Monday at St. Catherine's Church in Norwood. Ms. Fleming died on Jan. 27 of complications from cancer. She was 53.

Born and raised in the Hyde Park section of Boston, Ms. Fleming started working at Boston College in 1980. She was administrative secretary in the Office of Advancement and Academic Relations at the time of her death.

She was the daughter of Francis J. and Irene A. Fleming of Norwood. She is also survived by a brother, F. Jeffrey Fleming of Needham, and sister, Terri of Scituate. Ms. Fleming was also the niece of Rev. Thomas J. Fleming, SJ of Weston.

Burial was private.
