BC bOp!, Chorale, Concert Band Take the Stage in Nov.

Three of Boston College's most popular music ensembles will be on stage in early November. On Nov. 3, BC bOp! will present its jazz-flavored vocal and instrumental stylings at 5 p.m. in the Heights Room of Corcoran Commons on Lower Campus. BC bOp! performs concerts throughout the year and appears at many University functions as well as public events in the Boston area, and has played in Carnegie Hall and jazz festivals throughout the country.

Admission to the concert is free.

The University Chorale of Boston College will perform Carl Orff's "Carmina Burana" on Nov. 5 at 8 p.m. in Trinity Chapel on Newton Campus. The Chorale, directed by John Finney, is one of BC's oldest performance groups and has presented concerts in Rome - one visit included a public audience with Pope John Paul II - Prague, Vienna, Puerto Rico and Ireland, among other places.

Tickets for the performance are $10, $5 with student ID.

The Boston College Concert Band will give its annual fall concert on Nov. 7 at 3 p.m. in Gasson 100. The performance, "Music of Faith," will include works by Bach, Randall Thompson and Brahms. BC alumni, staff, and undergraduate and graduate students comprise the Concert Band's membership. In addition to its many performances on campus, the BC Concert Band participated in a series of "exchange concerts" with other Jesuit universities such as Georgetown and John Carroll.

Admission to this event is free.

More information about the concerts and performers is available through the on-line University Calendar at events.bc.edu.
