Women's Soccer in Sweet 16; Men's Soccer Earns Bye

The Boston College women's soccer team advanced to the "Sweet 16" round of the National Collegiate Athletic Association tournament, and will play at Princeton this Sunday.

In the opening round games held this past weekend, BC edged Florida State in a sudden-death shoot-out, 1-0, and turned back Central Florida, 2-1. The 25th-ranked Eagles now sport a 15-6-1 record.

The winner of Sunday's game will face either Washington or Maryland in the NCAA quarterfinals Nov. 26-28. This year's semi-final and championship games will be held on Dec. 5 in Cary, NC.

The men's soccer team has been seeded 15th in the NCAA tournament and earned a first-round bye. They will play the winner of the Marist-UConn game on Tuesday, Nov. 23, at the Newton Campus Soccer Field.
