-The campaign generated $441 million in gifts from 90,000 donors. Boston College's last capital campaign, which ended in 1991, raised $136 million.
-The largest "Ever to Excel" donations were two $20 million gifts, both from anonymous donors. The smallest was a gift of $2.
-There were 82 pledges of $1 million or more, and 85 percent of the gifts were under $1,000.
-The original campaign goal in 1997 was $300 million. Midway through the campaign the goal was raised to $400 million, and that figure was exceeded by 10.25 percent.
-Gifts were received from as far away as Hong Kong and Indonesia. Closer to home, BC's faculty and staff contributed $2.7 million to the campaign.
-In addition to cash gifts and pledges, gifts to the campaign included an oriental rug, a house on Cape Cod and a small powerboat, for use by the Boston College sailing team.
-The Class of 2003 was the first to exceed 40 percent participation in a senior class gift. The effort was spurred by a $50,000 matching gift challenge offered by University Trustee Thomas F. Ryan '63.
