Eagles Nest Express Service a Time-saver for Faculty, Staff

Administrators, faculty and staff members can save time and money on their campus lunches, thanks to a new Dining Services plan.

Using the Eagles Nest Express service, Boston College employees can call the deli-style restaurant and place orders that will be ready in just minutes for pick-up from the eatery, located on the second floor of McElroy Commons. The service helps employees avoid long lines and enjoy more of their lunch hour.

"We are always looking for ways to make things more convenient for the people who work here at Boston College and thought this would be a good idea," said Associate Director for Restaurant Operations Helen Wechsler.

As an added incentive, customers who use Eagles Nest Express and order a 20 oz. cold beverage with their orders will only be charged 50 cents for the drink.

The Eagles Nest Express menu, which is available in the restaurant or at http://www.bc.edu/offices/bcds/menus/nestexpress/ includes the Nest's traditional deli sandwiches and newer items such as "carved-to-order" turkey, beef brisket, and meatloaf sandwiches which are served with homemade potato salad and the popular chicken, tuna and steak specialty sandwiches. All desserts, ice cream and chips are also available on the Express menu.

"It's a convenient way to feed a group," said Wechsler, who encourages those planning lunch meetings to use the new service.

She said there are plans to expand the service to the new Hillside Café, located in 21 Campanella Way.

Customers may place their orders by calling ext.2-1328. The service is operational Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., the Eagle's Nest's operating hours.
