Kreinbring Joins Student Affairs

Office of Program Management Director James Kreinbring, who has been at the center of efforts to improve University services and operations, has been appointed as executive assistant to the vice president for Student Affairs.

Kreinbring, who will act as chief financial officer and direct planning and assessment in the Student Affairs division, is expected to begin his new job later this month.

After working in the BC Information Technology division for 10 years, in 1996 Kreinbring was appointed manager of Project Delta, a broad-based initiative to increase institutional efficiency and productivity. He served as Delta's liaison to the larger University community, helped organize the agenda for the Delta executive committee's weekly discussions and tracked the resulting progress, and provided oversight for the various smaller projects launched as a result of Delta.

When Project Delta ended in 2000, Kreinbring was named to head the Office of Program Management, which works with the executive vice president in assessing the University's entire range of departments and services.

"Jim brings over 17 years of experience at Boston College in which he has assumed increased levels of responsibility and leadership in process redesign, strategic planning, cost analysis and financial management," said Student Affairs Vice President Cheryl Presley. "We are fortunate to have him join our leadership team."
