'Dancer's Christmas' and 'Children's Irish Christmas' This Weekend

Boston College will be the setting for two family-oriented holiday events this weekend.

Beginning tomorrow, Dec. 12, at 8 p.m., the Boston Liturgical Dance Ensemble will present its annual production of "A Dancer's Christmas." The popular, dance-flavored interpretation of the Christmas story also will be performed Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m., and again during the weekend of Dec. 19-21.

Boston Catholic Television (BCTV) will broadcast "A Dancer's Christmas" on the following dates: Dec. 22 at 11 a.m.; Dec. 23 at 9:30 p.m.; Dec. 24 at 3 p.m.; Christmas Day at 8 a.m. and noon; Dec. 26 at 11:30 a.m. and Dec. 27 at 8:30 p.m. BCTV is carried on cable by Comcast.

On Dec. 14, Boston College's Irish Studies Program will host "A Children's Irish Christmas Party" from 2-6 p.m. in Gasson 100.

The event, co-sponsored with the Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Eireann Hanafin-Cooley Branch, will feature Irish dancing instruction for children, musical entertainment and a visit from Santa Claus. Light refreshments will be served.

There is a $5 charge for adults.
