Other events during the weekend will include a talk on Sept. 29 by University President William P. Leahy, SJ, on BC's recently launched "Church In the 21st Century" initiative [see story on page 1], and a slate of family activities preceding the Sept. 28 BC-Central Michigan football game.
In addition, during the day on Sept. 27 parents will be invited to visit their children's classes and to attend an afternoon session that will showcase the BC classroom experience.
That evening will feature the popular Pops on the Heights gala, which benefits the University's scholarship endowment. Beginning at 6 p.m. with pre-concert festivities, the event - sold out months in advance each year since it began - will feature the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra and conductor Bruce Hangen, as well as the Boston College University Chorale and other student groups.
