Thursday, November 21, 7:30 p.m., Higgins 300. "Recovering Catholic Childhoods: The History of Growing Up Catholic in the 20th Century," with Indiana University Professor of Religious Studies Robert Orsi.

Saturday, November 23, 3 p.m., St. Mary's Chapel. "The Memory of the Suffering Christ," a Jesuit chamber opera by Johann Staudt, with Jesuit Institute Director Assoc. Prof. T. Frank Kennedy, SJ (Music), Jesuit Institute Visiting Fellow Michael Zampelli, SJ, University Chorale Director John Finney and Ensemble Abendmusik. Program repeats Nov. 24 at 8 p.m. Admission free but reservations required. Call ext.2-8290.

Tuesday, December 3, 7 p.m., McGuinn 121. "Courage to Be Catholic: Crisis, Reform, and the Future of the Church," with George Weigel, author of Witness to Hope, a biography on Pope John Paul II.

Wednesday, December 4, 7 p.m., Higgins 300. "Role of Women and Girls in the Contemporary Church," with Margaret Guider, OSF, associate professor of religion and society at the Weston Jesuit School of Theology.

Thursday, December 5, 7 p.m., Higgins 310. "'He Wanted to Know More Than He Should': Meister Eckhart, His Followers and the Magisterium," with Bernard J. McGuinn, professor of the history of Christianity at the University of Chicago Divinity School.
