A stained glass window in an Irish church has been dedicated to a Boston College

graduate who was a victim of the Sept. 11 World Trade Center attack in New York City.

The window in Ballinlough Church, outside Kells in County Meath, was dedicated to the memory of Patrick Aranyos '97, who was employed at the firm Euro Traders, which had offices in the WTC.

Aranyos' mother Winnifred is a native of the Ballinlough area, and he and his family visited Ireland frequently during his lifetime. His grandparents and several other relatives are buried in the cemetery adjacent to the church, which was built in 1828.

The window, commissioned by Aranyos' parents, Alexander and Winnifred, and designed by leading Irish stained glass artist George Walsh, was dedicated in a special Mass celebrated by Rev. Michael Smith, Bishop of Meath on Feb. 21.

The Aranyos family currently resides in Jupiter, Fla.



The inscription on the window reads:
