AT&T Wireless plan sign-up

Boston College has signed an agreement with AT&T Wireless that offers BC faculty and staff comprehensive and competitive plans for cellular phone service.

Employees who are already AT&T Wireless customers are also eligible to take advantage of the new offering and receive the related discounts.

Those employees who have contracts with Sprint PCS through BC do not need to switch to AT&T Wireless, but should confirm the status of your current agreement before changing services.

Employees interested in the new plan may speak to an AT&T representative in Gasson 012 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. today and on April 28 and 29.

Affirmative action briefing April 29

An "Affirmative Action Update" will be held on Tuesday, April 29, from 10 a.m.-noon in the McGuinn Hall Fifth Floor Lounge.

Byzantine rite is May 3

A Catholic Mass in the Byzantine rite will be celebrated Saturday, May 3, at 10:30 a.m. in St. Mary's Chapel, to be followed by the ceremonial crowning of the statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary by Bapst Lawn.

The Mass will be celebrated by Rev. Michael Moisin of the St. Joseph Byzantine Mission of the Romanian Catholic Diocese of St. George in Canton, Ohio. Rev. James Morris '72, M.Ed '83, of St. John the Baptist Church in Salem will give the homily. Liturgical chant is to be performed by the Andrei Rublev Choir of Boston College and by cantors Rev. Subdeacon Marian Simion, Ionel Popescu and Catalin Francu of St. Paraskeva Romanian Parish in Wakefield.

"Tee Off" on June 3

Boston College faculty and staff are invited to participate in the sixth annual BC Tee Off Golf Tournament to be held on Tuesday, June 3, at the Sterling Country Club.

The $75-per-player registration fee includes a buffet lunch, access to the driving range and putting green and a sit-down dinner. There also will be contests, raffles and prizes. All players who participate are expected to use an approved vacation day.

Festival of Dance at Robsham

Dance Visions Inc. will hold a two-weekend "Festival of Dance" at Robsham Theater next month, which will include classes in various dance styles taught by top local choreographers.

On Saturday, May 3, an assemblage of New England dancers will present "Dance on the Top Floor," co-produced by Margot Parsons, a part-time faculty member in the BC Theater Department.

Earlier that day, classes in ballet and modern dance will be offered for intermediate to advanced students. Call 617-969-4091 for information on admission and registration.

The annual "Dancers at the Robsham" event will take place on May 9 and 10, featuring works by Parsons and by the Boston Liturgical Dance Ensemble, BC's resident dance troupe, among others.

On May 9, a jazz dancing class will be offered for intermediate to advanced students from 2-4 p.m., followed by a workshop in partner dancing from 4-5:30 p.m. for both experienced and inexperienced dancers. The "Dance on Top Floor" and "Dancers at the Robsham" shows all begin at 8 p.m., with admission at $20, $15 for students and senior citizens.
