Prof. Jean Bartunek, RCSJ, a member of the Organizational Studies department, was elected president of the Academy of Management in August. That same month, the American Accounting Association tabbed Sweeney Professor of Accounting Peter Wilson as its president-elect.
The 12,000-member Academy of Management, which includes teachers and professionals from 60 countries, is the largest professional association in the management sciences. Sister Bartunek has served as a member of the academy's executive committee for the past four years.
Wilson will assume his duties as president of the 9,000-member American Accounting Association, which promotes excellence in accounting education, research and practice, at the group's convention in San Antonio next summer.
