Sullivan issued several guidelines associated with the policy:
-It applies to Friday afternoons between 3 and 5 p.m. and may not be used to alter work hours at any other time.
-The shorter work day applies to those who are normally scheduled to work after 3 p.m. on Fridays.
-If an employee is required to work past 3 p.m., he or she may receive compensatory
time off on another day approved by the supervisor.
-An employee who takes a vacation or sick day on Friday is charged with a full
day and does not get an "extra" two hours to use at another time.
