Student to Attend German Symposium

Andrew Fraley '04, a graduate student in chemistry, has been chosen to participate in a weeklong exchange visit of young American and German scientists.

Fraley, who is part of Prof. Larry McLaughlin's group, will be among 12 students who will travel to Germany for a symposium for young chemists March 13-15 presented by the Northeastern Section of the American Chemical Society and the Gesellshaft Deutscher Chemiker.

The itinerary includes stays in Cologne and Aachen, a visit to pharmaceutical giant Bayer AG, and a presentation by Fraley of his work.

"This outstanding individual honor reflects great credit on the department and Boston College," said Chemistry Department chairman Prof. David McFadden.
