Northern Irish Officials Visit BC
Deputy First Minister of Northern Ireland Mark Durkan discussed the Northern Irish political and economic situation during a talk on Feb. 7 in Burns Library, and offered his vision of the future for the Northern Ireland.
Durkan, who is leader of the Social Democratic and Labour Party, served as a negotiator for the 1998 Good Friday Agreement that established the Northern Ireland Assembly. He was accompanied by Minister of Agriculture for Northern Ireland Brid Rodgers.
The event was sponsored by the Boston College Center for Irish Programs.
