Andrew Delbanco Lecture Tonight

The Lowell Lecture Humanities Series concludes its spring 2002 schedule tonight with a 7:30 p.m. lecture in Gasson 100 by author and essayist Andrew Delbanco, who has been called "America's best social critic" by Time magazine.

Delbanco, the Julian Clarence Levi Professor in the Humanities at Columbia University, will present "Melville, Our Contemporary."

The author of numerous books on American literature, culture and religion, including the recently published The Death of Satan: How Americans Have Lost the Sense of Evil, Delbanco is currently working on a new book, Melville's World.

Delbanco's lecture is free and open to the public.
