(10-28-97) -- University Health Services will offer free flu vaccinations for Boston College employees on Oct. 30 in Gasson 100, and on Nov. 11 in the Walsh Hall Function Room.
Vaccinations will be administered between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on both days.
Health Services Associate Director Nancy Baker said persons who are allergic to eggs or egg products should not receive the vaccine, as it may cause harmful effects.
Those employees who are already suffering from a viral infection, like a cold, should wait until they are fully recovered before being vaccinated, she added. "There wouldn't be an adverse reaction," Baker explained, "but you are less likely to benefit from the vaccine if your immune system is already battling an illness."
