An administrator in the University's Athletic Association since 1980, Kane replaces Chet Gladchuk, who on July 18 was named athletic director at the University of Houston.
Fr. Leahy also announced that the process of selecting a new athletic director will begin immediately, and Prof. Joseph Quinn (Economics), who serves as Faculty Representative to Athletics and ex-officio chairman of the University's Athletic Advisory Board, will chair a search committee. Other committee members will be named shortly.
