(4-14-99) -- Sharif Moustafa, a freshman in the College of Advancing Studies and son of Dining Services employee Ahmed Moustafa, died of an apparent heart attack while playing basketball in the courtyard of his Cambridge apartment building on April 6. He was 21.
Moustafa was recalled by College of Advancing Studies Dean James Woods, SJ, as a "dependable and more than pleasant young man who was anxious to do well in life."
He had finished dinner with his parents and two elder brothers and was outside shooting baskets with friends when he was stricken, according to Fr. Woods.
He was buried at Mount Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge.
Moustafa's father, Ahmed, works as a cook's helper on the Newton Campus.
