(9-16-98) -- Parked cars must be moved from the Chestnut Hill campus by 11 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 17, to make room for the arrival of thousands of Parents Weekend visitors the following morning, according to Boston College police.
The Thursday night curfew applies to all cars. Parking will be at a premium on the Main Campus over Parents Weekend, with the annual Pops on the Heights concert being held at Conte Forum on Friday night and the football team playing Temple University at Alumni Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Resident students are encouraged to move their cars to the Newton campus until after the football game Saturday afternoon, when they will once again be allowed to park on the Main Campus.
On Friday, when as many as 2,000 cars carrying visiting parents are expected to arrive on campus, valet parking will be offered at the Commonwealth Avenue garage. Commuter students will be allowed to park on the Main Campus for classes during the day, but will not be allowed into the Beacon Street garage, which will be limited to faculty and staff autos.
