Constitution: Allies of Boston College

Article I: Name

The name of the organization shall be Allies of Boston College (hereafter Allies).

Allies shall not sponsor or support programs that involve public protests or petitions or activities and events that conflict with University policy or that University officials judge promote positions or behavior inconsistent with the Jesuit, Catholic mission and heritage of Boston College.

Article VIII: Role of the Office of the Dean for Student Development

The Dean for Student Development, in consultation with the Vice President for Student Affairs, will assign a staff member to be the advisor for Allies. This advisor will attend all meetings, provide ongoing guidance and interpretation concerning the purpose and goals of Allies, and approve or, where appropriate, seek approval of the Dean for Student Development for programs. These activities must be consistent with the purpose and the guidelines in Articles II, III, and VII of this Constitution.

Official recognition and continuation of Allies is based on adherence to the principles and provisions articulated in this Constitution, and failure to do so will result in revocation of standing as an approved undergraduate student organization at Boston College. The Office of the Dean for Student Development will annually review activities and conduct of Allies to ensure that it is acting in accord with its stated goals and procedures.
