BC Historian O'Connor to appear tomorrow in bookstore (9-22-2000) University Historian Thomas H. O'Connor will sign copies of his new book, Boston A to Z, tomorrow, Sept. 23, from 3 to 5 p.m. in the Boston College Bookstore. A short, entertaining history of Boston by the dean of Boston historians, Boston A to Z presents an encyclopedic potpourri of people, places and events from the Hub's storied past, from Filenešs Basement and "Honey Fitz" to Scollay Square and the Boston Strangler. The South Boston-bred O'Connor numerous works on the history of his hometown include Boston Catholics: A History of the Church and Its People, Civil War Boston: Homefront and Battlefield and The Boston Irish: A Political History. (O'Connor and Boston A-Z will be featured in an upcoming issue of Boston College Chronicle.) |
