Eucharist
See our Mass Schedule for times and locations. Adoration of the Blessed Eucharist is held on Fridays, from 12:45–5:00 PM, in the Lannon Chapel.
Ministers are also available to bring communion to the sick, elderly, and home-bound of our parish. If you would like to receive communion at home, please call the rectory to arrange a visit.
Baptism
Adults are baptized at the Easter Vigil as part of the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults. Infant and child baptisms are by arrangement, please contact the rectory for more information.
Infant Baptisms are celebrated on designated Saturdays throughout the year. Parents are expected to attend a Baptismal Preparation class prior to the celebration of Baptism; please call the rectory to initiate the planning process for your child's baptism.
Confirmation
Our confirmation program
begins
in ninth grade. Students are confirmed in the spring of the
tenth grade. Students who attend Catholic school join the
preparation program in the tenth grade. Young adults who have
been catechized but are not yet confirmed should contact the rectory
for an alternative program.
Matrimony
The sacrament of matrimony is celebrated throughout the year at St. Ignatius for parishioners and graduates of Boston College. If you are a registered parishioner, arrangements should be made with one of the priests of the parish at least six months in advance (twelve months is preferred). Boston College graduates who are not parishioners should contact the parish secretary for proper procedures. Marriage Preparation is offered at St. Ignatius though the Pre-Cana program at the Boston College Office of Campus Ministry; diocesan programs are also available.
Reconciliation
Reconciliation is available Saturdays, 3:15–3:45 PM in the Upper Church. Other times can be arranged by calling a priest at the parish.
Anointing of the Sick
The sacrament of anointing of the sick (formerly known as "extreme unction") is intended for any community members who are seriously sick. The sacrament can also be administered in the homes of the sick or those who may be approaching death. Please contact the rectory if you are in need of such a visit.
Additional information
If you have further questions or need to make additional arrangements, please contact the rectory.
