Research at Boston College

Research and scholarship are an important part of the intellectual life of Boston College.  The central role of research is reflected in the University's mission statement and its recently-announced fund-raising campaign. The University's accomplishments in external support for sponsored projects and in doctoral degrees conferred assure that Boston College will be classified as a Doctoral/Research University I institution in the 2000 edition of the Carnegie Classification.
