Entertainment

» Every Thursday the Boston Globe newspaper publishes a "Calendar" supplement, listing events and activities for the upcoming week, including music, dance, dining, theater, film, tours, art, galleries and movies. The MIT Humanities Library (14S-200) retains a paper copy of the "Calendar" section. The Boston Globe online version features options for browsing and searching for local activities and events. In addition, the Boston Globe's website contains an A&E (Arts and Entertainment) option which includes browsing and searching for Movies, Dining/Food, Local Events, Music and Theater/Arts.

» At most universities, including MIT and Harvard, a complimentary newspaper, the Boston Phoenix, is available in common areas and contains listings of entertainment activities and events for the upcoming week. The newspaper is somewhat focused on student interests and activities. However their listings for activities and events include a range from contemporary/pop to classical/traditional. Their museum listings, for example, range from the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, to the USS Constitution Museum to the Boston Beer Museum. Check their website under Arts for details on events, hours and locations.
