In addition, she continues to maintain her clinical
competence as a Nurse Practitioner working in the Urgent Care
department at the hospital. She recently served as the co-director
of the Northeast Regional VA Nursing Alliance (NERVANA) a unique
consortium between the Boston and Bedford VA hospitals and six
academic institutions.
Her background is diversified and includes clinical
expertise in a wide variety of clinical settings. She is a seasoned
academic who continues to teach both graduate and undergraduate
nursing courses. Her research expertise focus areas includes:
health promotion, post partum depression and Complementary and
Alternative/Integrative health therapies and more recently, Traumatic
Brain Injury(TBI).
Dr. St. Pierre has served on the local chapter
boards of SigmaTheta Tau, International in both Florida and Boston.
She is the current President of the Alpha Chi chapter at Boston
College. Dr. St. Pierre has published in peer reviewed journals
and has also written book chapters on health promotion, complementary
therapies and wellness for nursing texts. Dr. St. Pierre has been
a strong advocate for advancing the role of the nurses and nurse
practitioners in many ways and has received many awards and recognition
for her work and professional commitment. She was honored with
the "New Hampshire Nurse Practitioner of the Year" award
in 2001 and in 2008, she was inducted as a Fellow in the American
Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She was recently inducted as a
distinguished practitioner in the National Academies of Practice
in 2011. Dr. St. Pierre received her Bachelor's degree in Nursing
from Northeastern University, her Master's degree from the University
of Pennsylvania and her PhD in Nursing from Boston College. Feel
