On November 16, 2007, Dr. Philip Altbach participated in Indiana University's (IU) Science and Technology in the Pacific Century (STIP) Colloquium Series. Funded by the Illinois/Indiana U.S. Department of Education Title VI grant, STIP project was initiated in Fall 2006 with the goal of exploring shifts
in the location of leading scientific research towards East Asian institutions. Hosted by IU's East Asian Studies Center,
this event was co-sponsored by Horizons of Knowledge, the IU School of Education Foundation, Discipline-Based Scholarship for Education,
the Office of the Vice President for International Affairs, the Center for Evaluation and Education Policy, and the Center for Postsecondary Research.

Spotlight on the U.S. Study Abroad Enterprise and Standards for Good Practice
Dr. Whalen is associate professor of international studies, associate dean, and executive director of the Office of Global Education at Dickinson College, in Pennsylvania (USA). He's also president and CEO of the Forum on Education Abroad, a U.S.-based membership organization for institutions and individuals involved in study abroad.
