The Public Interest Law Foundation (PILF) is the largest student-run organization at Boston College. PILF is dedicated to fostering students' participation in public interest law. We see "public interest law" as a broadly-defined category that includes many different legal practices. However the primary goal of public interest law should always be serving individuals and communities in need who would otherwise go without legal representation.
PILF achieves its mission by working with Career Services to sponsor speakers throughout the year and highlight different kinds of public interest legal jobs. Additionally, PILF works hard throughout the year to raise funds for PILF Summer Stipends so that students can take unpaid positions at legal aid, non-profit and other public interest law organizations after their first and second years of law school.
