Considering BC Law?

BC Law's LGBT students receive wide support from alumni, faculty, staff, administration and fellow students. As an organization, Lambda also encourage outreach to our friends and colleagues throughout Boston Collegeís undergraduate and graduate schools. We participate with other Boston-area law schools in a variety of LGBT-related events. Some of our members also volunteer with public interest organizations, like GLAD.

That said, we are not blind to BCís negative reputation toward diversity. Only recently, did BCís administration officially recognize an undergraduate gay-straight organization, called Allies. Furthermore, the university maintains a position of excluding sexual orientation from its non-discrimination policy. While the law school includes sexual orientation within its non-discrimination policy, like many American law schools, BCLS abandoned it to permit military recruiters to use the law schoolís Career Services office and its resources. Please see our Military Recruitment and F.A.I.R. v. Rumsfeld pages for more information.Nevertheless, we are fighting discrimination and not without the generous support of our friends at BCLS.

If you are considering BCLS, let us know. We will gladly answer your questions about academics, law school life and the Boston area. If you plan on visiting the law school campus, let us know and we can arrange a meeting with one of our members.
