Research Interests:
His scholarly and research interest is in the area of psychosocial issues associated with HIV/AIDS. He also has been a pioneer in the continuing education of social workers around HIV/AIDS issues, having founded in 1989 the Annual National Conference on Social Work and HIV/AIDS which he continues to chair

He has also obtained over $350,000 from corporate and governmental sources to support HIV/AIDS conferences and training projects for social workers.
