BC is a Jesuit University
with a strong reputation for its commitment to social justice, however, we
are asking, "Does this commitment include how our $1 Billion endowment
is invested?" AT our kick-off event will held a short presentation that
answered the following questions:
- What is Socially Responsible
Investing?
- Is Boston College investing
its money in a socially responsible way?
- Why can’t we find
out what companies our University is invested in?
- How are other Universities
investing responsibly?
What can we do to bring
Socially Responsible Investing to Boston College? On January 26th we answered
the last question by presenting our proposal to create an Advisory Committee
on Socially Responsible Investing that will truly make BC a University of
"Men and Women for Others."
