The PULSE Faculty consists of members of the Philosophy and Theology Departments who teach the core-level PULSE course. Recently an elective PULSE course was added to the course offerings which is offered in conjunction with the English Department and taught by a professor from that Department. In addition to teaching the six-credit per semester course, PULSE instructors help PULSE students achieve an integration of class and field work in their own lives by conducting small weekly discussion groups with students and assigning weekly journals or periodic papers on topics relating to field and course material.

The PULSE Council consists of seventeen undergraduate students. Each Council Member coordinates three or four of the fifty-three placements in the Program, which involves responsibility for approximately fifteen to twenty-five students. Each of the Council Members has volunteered at least one year in a PULSE placement and has made a one year commitment to the Council with the opportunity to return for a second year. As a placement coordinator, the Council Member aids interested students in selection of and orientation to a field placement and serves as the first contact with the designated field supervisor. During the course of the semester, the Council Member will arrange a number of meetings for all students in a particular placement and will maintain contact with each student individually. This coordinating activity of the Council Members will not replace, but will supplement, the professional staff's contact with the various projects and the Program's students. Each Council Member has three office hours per week when they can be reached at the PULSE Program.
