Contemporary Motivated Mathematics:

The Wonderful World of Numbers
Book 1, 2, 3

These are problem solving collections that treat magic squares and other magic figures, number patterns, operation patterns, figurate numbers, primes, Fibonacci numbers, divisor patterns, and geometric number patterns in a spiral development.

Motivated Math Project Activity Booklets:

Fraction Action 1, 2
Incredible Pascal Triangle
Mathematical Doodling
The Wonder Square
Perfect Numbers
Finite Differences
Super Sum
Applications of Geometric Series
Word Problems for Maxima and Minima
Applications of Mathematics Through Models and Formulas

These booklets stress problem solving. Problems are selected to reinforce classroom instruction, to motivate and challenge, and to provide paper and pencil activities that can be supplemented by calculator and/or computer.

Number Treasury

An extensive study of numbers: prime and composite numbers, plane and figurate numbers, digital patterns, bell and catalan numbers, tautonymic and lagado numbers, and more is presented.

Materials - Strip 1

Designs from Mathematical Patterns

The book describes how to make patterns based on number relationships. Magic squares, modular arithmetic, and Pascal's triangle in particular are featured.

From Heart and Mind: A Classroom Odyssey

Stanley J. Bezuszka, S.J. has given hundreds of inspiring talks during his career as a mathematics educator. In this book he has captured the essence of the inspiration he offers: a bit of humor combined with a love of learning.

Informal Geometry Explorations

This book is a collection of activities focusing on area, counting, construction, congruence, visualization, symmetry, tiling, and dissection. The problems are activity-based, and many are open-ended with challenging extensions.

Tessellations: The Geometry of Patterns

This book examines tessellations from a how-to point of view and emphasizes the effective use of dot paper as a medium for tessellations.

Tessellations Using Logo

Here Terrapin Logo is used as a tool for sketching simple and complex tessellations.
