"Kilian's Chronicle," or "The Magic Stone"

Pamela Berger -- (Writer, Producer, Director). Pamela Berger wrote the story and co-wrote the screenplay for the film "Sorceress." "Sorceress," a co-production with France, was directed by Suzanne Schiffman, former assistant director to Francois Truffaut. It was nominated for a French Academy Award (César). "Sorceress" had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in 1987. It was distributed by European Classics and is now in video via Mystic Fire. In 1988 Pamela Berger went on to write, produce and direct "The Imported Bridegroom." It was an "Official Selection" for the Montreal Film Festival in 1989 and won the Dove Award for wholesome family entertainment in 1990. "The Imported Bridegroom" was distributed theatrically by ASA Communications and is now in video via Ergo Media. Pamela Berger is now in development for her next film project, "Revolt of the Shepherds," to be shot in the summer of 1996. She is a professor of art history and film at Boston College.

Barbara Hartwell-- (Executive Producer). Barbara Hartwell, a Mashantucket Pequot tribal member and Councilwoman, has been involved with "Kilian's Chronicle" since its inception. She did archival research, participated in the compilation of bibliography, and arranged for interviews with elders. Working with scholars and Native American consultants, she helped shape the script and provided inspiration for the conception of several scenes. She aided in both the casting process as well as the editing in order to insure that a balanced perspective was preserved throughout. She helped put together the final package that financed the finishing costs of the film.
