1. Thesis meeting.
There will be a meeting regarding the senior honors
thesis next Wednesday, November 15, from 7:30 to 9 in the HP library. This
is an excellent way to start thinking about how you will fulfill senior
year requirements. It is especially important for all those who will be
abroad next semester. Please note that a thesis in the Honors Program is
very strongly recommended, but not required. Click here
for more thesis information.
2. Registration for the spring term.
All juniors not abroad in the spring should normally register for the
Twentieth Century and the Tradition II course. You are free to change sections,
professors, and times. No one is or can be pre-registered for a particular
seminar.
3. Preparing for senior year.
Posted at Humanities House, the HP website, are a series of documents
regarding the senior year requirements in the Honors Program, the meeting
with a designated HP professor (before spring break) required of all juniors
not abroad regarding your plans for senior year, and strategies for finding
a thesis topic. Samples of these documents will also be handed out at the
November 15th meeting. Whether or not you attend, whether or
not you go abroad, you are responsible for this information posted online.
If you are going abroad spring semester, you will obviously not be required to meet with an HP professor before spring break. However, you are still responsible for strategizing senior year options, and you need to start thinking now about possible thesis topics and advisors. Again, the two sources of information designed to help with these projects are the meeting on the 15th, and the documents at the website.
