Aegisthus- Agamemnon's cousin. Takes control of Argos after Agamemnon leaves for Troy; takes Agamemnon's wife Clytaemnestra as well. Contrives plot to kill Agamemnon yet leaves the actual deed to Clytaemnestra.
Agamemnon- Returns home to Argos after his victory at Troy. Brings Cassandra, the prophetess home with him. Sacrificed his daughter Iphigeneia to get favorable winds for his initial outward journey. Killed in the name of Justice by his wife Queeen Clytaemnestra.
Cassandra- Returns to Argos as Agamemnon's paramour. Shown in her role as prophetess. Forsees Agamemnon's death and her own demise in the bloodied house of Atreus.
Clytaemnestra- Seeks revenge for the sacrifice of her daughter, Iphigeneia, at the hands of Agamemnon. Falsely welcomes Agamemnon home, fittingly on a crimson carpet, only to kill him. As Agamemnon ends, Clytaemnestra feels that the house of Atreus has been cleansed.
