"Encounters with the Other and with Ourselves: Faith, Law and Commerce in the Portuguese Opening of the East”
Lecture by Professors Frank J. Garcia and Paulo Barrozo
Sponsored by the Boston Portuguese Festival

The exhibition Portugal, Jesuits, and Japan, offers many opportunities to reflect on the nature of faith, commerce and culture, both in the sixteenth century and today. This remarkably fertile period was also quite influential in the development of modern international law, and Boston College Law School Professors Paulo Barrozo and Frank J. Garcia will address these themes in a panel on “Encounters with the Other and with Ourselves.”

More information is on the Boston Portuguese Festival's website.
