SCUBA DIVING
Description
Take a plunge and explore the unknown! At the end of
this course, participants will be NAUI SCUBA certified. Please see below for
fee, equipment, and open water dive information. To
register for class, please come to the membership office during office
hours »
Prerequisites
You do not need to be a strong swimmer! However, you
must be able to swim 200 yds using any stroke and tread
water.

Class Information
Students will be tested on the prerequisites on the first day of class. Students
will be able to borrow mask, boots, and fins for the first few classes, but
it is recommended you purchase your own during the semester. The instructor
will provide information on what equipment you need and where to buy it.

COURSE FEES
Non-Member Facility Fee: $60
Non-members must pay $60 at the time of sign up. Members
do not need to pay anything at sign-up.
Class Fee: $300
$150 due first day of class, $150 due fourth date of class. This fee covers
the following:
Open Water Instructional Manual
NAUI workbook and study guide
DAN Literature (see here for more info: http://www.diversalertnetwork.org/ )
All of the pool equipment (mask, fins, tanks, belts/weights, etc...)
Open Water Fee: $100
To get your certification, students must complete open water dives. Students
have the option of completing the dive with this class or with another
instructor. If students choose to do the open water dives with this class,
the cost will be $100 (instructor will set date for payment and dive). This
final open water dive will take place over a weekend, with diving done on
both days (2 dives each day, total of 4 dives). Participants must rent their
own gear for this dive. Instructor has list of local dive shops.
