Swimming: Front Crawl
Need some help with your front crawl stroke?  This class will give you pointers on breathing, rotation, arm placement, and kicking.  With a few simple modifications, you can improve your stroke, and get a better workout in the water. This workshop is for one day only, and not a series of lessons. back to top ˆ

Swimming: Flip Turns
This 45min class will teach you the basics of the flip-turn and how to keep water from going up your nose.  This simple skill will help you improve the effectiveness of your workout. This workshop is for one day only, and not a series of lessons. back to top ˆ

Triathlons: How to Train
Do you have what it takes to do a triathlon?  Find out by joining us for a brief overview of what you need to do to train for one.  Learn about the different types and lengths of triathlons, along with what programs the Plex has to offer that can help you with your training. Snorkeling
If you are going away to warm waters this winter break, you must come learn the basics of snorkeling.  The instructor will go over equipment selection and mask fitting.  Free diving will also be covered. This workshop is for one day only, and not a series of lessons. back to top ˆ

Beginning Swim
This class is for the beginner swimmer who wants to learn the basics of swimming and gain comfort in the water. Free to BC Plex members, but you must sign-up in Membership Office. back to top ˆ

Intermediate Swim
For the intermediate adult swimmer who knows how to swim, but wants to learn efficiency and improve their technique. Free to BC Plex members, but you must sign-up in Membership Office. back to top ˆ

Fitness Swimming
This class is designed to help participants get back into shape through structured workouts provided by the on deck coach. Also, students will learn the basics of interval training, using a pace clock, and flip turns. Must be able to swim 200yds before signing up. back to top ˆ

TRIATHLON TRAINING
Description
Triathlon training is designed to teach people competitive swimming, biking, and running and how to incorporate all three sports into one plan for triathlon competition. Specific triathlon skills taught include pack swimming/drafting, swim starts, buoy turns, transitions, running after the bike, etc.
Prerequisites
A basic aerobic fitness level and the ability to swim crawl-stroke.

Things you will need
Running shoes, swimwear/goggles, cycling wear, watch with stopwatch
Optional: Wetsuit
Goals:
-Improve fitness, technique, and competitive racing strategy in all three sports.
-Help participants reach their potential in triathlon by getting the most out of their available training time.
-Set goals; develop self-confidence and self-discipline through mental and physical preparation for triathlon.

Springboard Diving
Students will learn the basics of diving from both the side of the deck and the 1 meter board. Skills will include: approach, basic hurdle, and basic forward dives. Participants must be able to swim length of dive well prior to signing up. back to top ˆ
