Lianzhe Zheng

Lianzhe Zheng is a first-year doctoral student in the Counseling Psychology program at Boston College. She received her BA in Psychology and Communication from the Ohio State University and M.Ed in School Counseling from University of Maryland. She is a graduate student affiliate of Asian American Psychological Association (AAPA), Division on Women, Division on LGBTQ and Division on Practice, and the Association of Chinese Helping Professionals and Psychologists---International (ACHPPI).

Lianzhe joined the ISPRC team in the fall of 2017. Her current research interests include international counseling trainees’ racial identity development, community advocacy project and LGBTQ issues in Asian countries. She initiated a community advocacy program called INSTA (International Students Advocating for Community Justice at Boston College) to engage international students to promote a culturally inclusive community and urge institution to make changes for them in teaching, supervision and program development.  She is also a graduate student affiliate of the American Psychological Association, Division 17 (Society of Counseling Psychology), Division 7 (Developmental Psychology) and Division 35-4 (Lesbian/Bisexual/Transgender Concerns).

In her free time, she enjoys traveling, running, reading and writing.
