College Bound

Who we are

College Bound is a pre-collegiate enrichment and support program offered to a diverse group of 50-60 students from three Boston Public High Schools: West Roxbury Academy, Brighton High School, and Urban Science Academy.

The mission of the College Bound Program is to empower students to become positive change agents in their schools and communities. Through a Social Justice and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) lens, students learn about a variety of important issues impacting their communities.

S.T.E.M. and social justice classes

College Bound students come to Boston College's campus every other Saturday (transportation and lunch is provided). Class offerings include:

Urban Planning and Social Justice: Assessing air quality throughout the city of Boston and exploring issues of environmental justice

Hydroponics and Social Justice: Learning how to grow vegetables with hydroponic, and solar systems while understanding how food justice impacts the local community

College and Career Guidance: Providing opportunities for students to explore their own identity and different career and college interests
