The Return of #GivingTuesday
Save the Date: #GivingTuesday Returns Nov. 28
Can Generous Eagles Set a New Record?
On Nov. 28, Eagles will have the chance to blow past their own #GivingTuesday record and make a bigger impact than ever on BC—providing crucial financial aid and strengthening every element of the University.
What is #GivingTuesday?
A global day of giving launched six years ago, #GivingTuesday falls on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving, Black Friday, and Cyber Monday. This will be BC’s third #GivingTuesday.
Last year, an amazing 3,017 BC alumni, parents, and friends gave for BC on #GivingTuesday. Together with challenge funds from an anonymous donor, the community raised $625,000 for BC, setting a University record for gifts received in a single day.
What’s BC’s #GivingTuesday plan this year?
Every donor can make a difference. When 4,000 members of the BC family give on Nov. 28, an anonymous donor will give $400,000 for financial aid.
AND there’s a bonus challenge for GOLD (Graduates Of the Last Decade)—if 1,000 GOLD alumni participate, a group of alumni donors will give an additional $200,000 to BC. Special thanks to Kate '93 and Mike Ascione '93, Megan ’99, MA'00, and Wade Brown ’99; Shannon and Pat Cahill '92; Justin Hillenbrand '98; and Kristin ’86 and Jay Waring P'20, for making this portion of the challenge possible.
With $600,000 of challenge funding on the table, this is an opportunity to impact Boston College in a big way. When the BC family comes together, the results are stunning—and this year, they could be record-breaking.
