Three Eagles are among Boston's 14 best educators.

A trio of BC alumnae have been named by Boston Public Schools as 2013 Educators of the Year. Carmen CalderĂłn O'Hara, MSW'95, a guidance counselor at Edward M. Kennedy Academy for Health Careers in Boston; Carmen Davis, MEd'08, a 10th grade geometry teacher at Urban Science Academy; and Amy Piacitelli, MEd'00, an 11th-and 12th-grade history teacher at Charlestown High, were each cited for excellence by Superintendent Carol Johnson.

Educators were nominated by their schools and selected by a committee composed of principals, teachers, parents, and a Boston Teachers Union representative. Boston Mayor Thomas Menino noted that this year's recipients are "exceptional examples of our finest educators—individuals who are extraordinarily dedicated and enthusiastic, and who continuously 'go above and beyond.'"
