Please Support the Class of 1979 Scholarship - A Special 30th Reunion Initiative

One of the most important goals we have for our 30th Reunion is to achieve 35% participation from the Class towards our Class Gift. This translates into 684 donors from the Class of '79.

As your 30th Reunion Gift Committee, we are encouraging increased participation by providing a special way for you to make a gift—one that will honor fellow classmates and ensure that future BC students enjoy the same experiences that we did. We are spearheading an initiative to fund three 1979 scholarships, one for each decade since our graduation, that would be awarded to three needy students next fall.
- The average financial aid package per student is approximately $25,000. To fund all three scholarships, we need to raise a total of $75,000.
- One of the scholarships will be a memorial scholarship honoring the 38 classmates who have passed away.

Why We Chose a Class Scholarship - Facts about Financial Aid at BC

- Approximately 70% of BC students receive financial aid.
- Last year, the average need-based financial aid package was $26,122.
- BC is one of only 30 "need-blind" private colleges and universities that meets the full demonstrated need of all accepted students. This means that BC admits students based on their potential to succeed rather than on their ability to afford tuition.
Among our top peer institutions, only three schools have lower endowments per student than BC (Georgetown, NYU, and BU.) Nortre Dame, Harvard, Dartmouth, Duke, Brown, Penn and Cornell’s are all higher.
- Last year, BC awarded $114 million in financial aid.
